The Great Glen Way starts in Fort William in the West Highlands of Scotland and travels 73 miles North to Inverness.
For the most part the walk is of low level walking, following the Tow Paths of the Caledonian Canal. The Great Glen is Scotland's greatest Geological Fault and takes in fabulous scenery and features such as Neptunes Staircase.
A wonderful spectacle of ancient battle sites and military roads, through mixed woodland climbing at various locations for full rewarding views of Scotland's unsurpassed history. Not forgetting of course Loch Ness and its bustling tourist villages, will give way to serene riverside paths that will lead you to Inverness Castle in it's magical Highland City.
